That time of the year is upon us, friends. Time to panic– I mean, calmly choose Christmas gifts long before those shopping deadlines. As an art fan, I’m an obvious advocate of giving art prints and canvas prints as gifts. I know that while this is a great idea, when the time comes to choose a print, it can be really difficult to settle on something.
Fear not! I’ve searched high and low to put together this gift guide for you full of gifts I love for your various friends. Let’s get to it!
These prints are from John Golden and they are PERFECT for that one friend you have that’s really into their cat/dog. You know the friend… The one that has an instagram feed full of cat pictures or a Facebook page for their dog? Yeah, that one.
I think I may fall into this category, if anyone is trying to think of what to get me (wink, wink). These are beautifully designed pieces from up-and-coming designers, Inaluxe and Yoni Alter. It’s perfect for your graphic designer friend, or the friend that likes to drink nice coffee whilst talking about computer fonts!
In my mind sometimes, I think I’m one of the chic, sassy women from Sex and the City. I think this describes quite a few women, and some of them actually pull this off! Those women are the fashionistas of this world. If you happen to be friends with one of them, may I recommend the above prints from Bridget Davies as a gift?
Your foodie friend may just be one of the people that love Marmite, and don’t you think they would get a kick out of these Lichtenstein-style Marmite prints? Even if you don’t love Marmite, these are great.
These canvas prints of classic films are bang on trend, and they’re particularly good because they’re quite uncommon posters. These are a really affordable and thoughtful gift to any friend that’s big into films.
Marion McConaghie is a quickly growing artist whose work has clearly tapped into something the design world. Her prints have vintage charm combined with beautiful illustrations, and make a great gift for a collector of beautiful things.
You know how you go on a holiday and the only art on offer is a bit… well, tacky? You want to take something away from your trip, but you also want it to look nice in your home! Or maybe you’re an ex-pat living away from your native home or city? If you have a friend like this (or if this is you), I highly recommend the above prints highlighting gorgeous cities!
I kept the title for this selection quite vague because I think these prints would be great for a number of people. The message here is about love, so my only qualification is that I suggest you only give these to someone you care about!
These Olympic prints are great for the sports lover, or anyone who got swept up in the Britannia/Olympic craze this year (and I think that’s a lot of us). These prints were done by some fabulous British artists and they’re the perfect marriage of art and sports!
