The UK's favourite place to buy art

Vintage World Maps

Posted by admin, 3 October 2012

I really like the look of this room. It’s a bit moody, but it looks refined. I feel like it probably smells a little like old books (a good thing to me), and the owner might enjoy drinking scotch whilst sitting on that beautiful couch…

Before I’m carried away building a whole story around this room, I’ll point out the three things I really like about it. I love the ceiling fan. It has a lot of character, like it might have been a prop in an old detective film. I love the deer antlers, which I’ve talked about before. And of course, I love that beautiful vintage map!

Maps are such an affordable way to add elegance to a room. I’m a big fan of this look – especially in a study or library. While there are many styles of maps you could go with, I think going for a vintage map is the best choice when going for a sophisticated look.
