An American influence on style has already been felt in the emerging Navajo trend. This now continues with the ‘Cosy Homestead’ interior design theme, which primarily takes it cues from the forest borderlands of the United States and Canada. Imagine log cabins, sheepskin rugs, raging fires and a glass of red wine and you’re there.
Key motifs of this theme I’ve spotted include antlers (which were everywhere at the 100% Design 2011 exhibition at Earl’s Court, London), birds drawn in a naïve style with a vaguely 1950s aesthetic and word art, stitched together for an authentic handmade feel. Discover more images that will make you look forward to hibernating in the coming months.
