Art Prints and Posters
After being introduced to the impressionism through major exhibitions in the late 1880s, American artists began to develop their own take on the style. By focussing on outdoor scenery and everyday life they adopted similar subject matters to their French predecessors. However, in contrast to how the movement was developing in Europe, American artists sought to capture a more realistic depiction of their subjects. Prominent artists include James McNeil Whistler, Mary Cassatt and John Singer Sargant, all of whom feature in our range.
