This British painter, illustrator and designer was born in 1861 and studied at Dulwich College, then at the South Kensington Schools and the Royal Academy Schools.
He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institute, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Grosvenor Gallery. He was elected to the Royal Institute in 1909.
His figurative water-colours and oil paintings show the development from late Victorian style to Edwardian post-impressionist techniques.
Margetson lived in Wallingford, Berkshire, and died on 2nd January 1940.
