Wherever I have been, my camera has been with me. From the moment I got my hands on my first camera - a simple yet enjoyable Nikon D40x - I have been recording what has been around me. Initially this was the natural surroundings of Sussex and the Lake District, but now includes the urban scenes of Bristol. The two environments invoke very different reactions; the former of relaxation and calm, the latter of an exciting, nervous energy. In trying to capture these responses I use both traditional and more contemporary styles of composition yet apply the same consideration for lines, texture and light to both environments. In capturing these scenes I use both digital and film. Digital has vastly opened up the creative possibilities of photography yet there is still a quality to film which cannot be duplicated by the digital format.
