The Courtauld Gallery

The Courtauld Gallery, in the grand setting of Somerset House in London, is famous for its outstanding Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, including celebrated works by Manet, Renoir, Degas, Seurat and Gauguin as well as a major group of paintings by Cézanne. The Gallery is also home to masterpieces such as Manet's A Bar at the Folies Bergère and Van Gogh's Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and extends into the 20th century with works by Modigliani, Matisse, Kandinsky and Picasso.

The Courtauld also holds one of the most important collections of drawings, watercolours and prints in Britain. This includes masterpieces by artists such as Michelangelo, Rembrandt and Turner and art deco fashion illustrations from The Gazette du Bon Ton.

The Courtauld Gallery is at the heart of The Courtauld Institute of Art, one of the world's leading centres for the study of art history and conservation. The collection is an exceptional resource for the Institute's students, many of whom go on to fill prestigious international positions as curators, scholars, critics, artists and dealers.
