Photographer Mel Allen was born in 1965 in Oldham, England. Completing his studies in Photography at Blackpool and Fylde College, Allen moved to London in 1987 to begin work as a photographer's assistant. During this time that Allen discovered his love for landscapes through working for photographers such as Pete Seaward, in stunning outdoor locations.
Attempting to capture every detail of the landscape with his photography, Mel Allen's now iconic image is 'Ullswater', captured by the pier of the Ullswater lake, the second largest lake in the Lake District, Cumbria. While continuing to build up his portfolio of location photographs, Allen has freelanced for numerous design and PR clients, as well as shooting for various advertising campaigns and company reports. Over the last two decades, Allen has gained respect as a much renowned location photographer in his own right.
