I am a multi-disciplined artist who is able to create art through various techniques including painting, photography, mixed media and printmaking, which I specialised in at university. I am excited by the possibilities of different materials and how their properties can determine a final outcome.
I have been creating art in various forms for as long as I can remember and since school a sketchbook has been my constant companion. These sketchbooks are often handmade and become pieces of artwork in their own right. They are filled with doodles, drawings, found images and assorted treasures. They show my thought processes, my visual diary illustrating the art journey that I have travelled.
Which ever medium I am using, pattern, colour and space always feature heavily in my work. I am currently developing a series of paintings infusing vintage wallpaper designs, fabrics and nature. They are heavily influenced by the patterns and colours of the Arts and Crafts Movement, in particular the wallpaper designs of William Morris.
