Karen was born in 1965 in Kent. She gained a BA Hons in Printed Textiles at Middlesex Polytechnic in 1989, then worked for many years in London designing for worldwide companies such as Laura Ashley and Habitat.
After moving back to Kent in 2004 Karen has been able to follow her long-held desire to paint. She works mainly in acrylic and mixed media, on canvas, board or paper. Her main inspiration comes from the surrounding landscape, the coast, her garden and home. Colour, texture, mark-making and a sense of space are the main focus and influence in her paintings.
