George (GM) Woodward was born in 1760 and is known today as one of the founding fathers of British satire.
Along with James Gillray, Thomas Rowlandson and Robert Cruikshank, Woodward made a living as a caricaturist and cartoonist, often depicting medical subjects. George Woodward died in 1809.
