Ellen studied graphic art in Vienna and has a New Zealand Diploma of Distinction in Design. Her artworks are created by hand-cutting and assembling paper, which she paints in a fabulous variety of colours and hues.
Her inspiration and passion is mid-century design, and having been born in Germany, Ellen enjoys adding a hint of European folk art in the form of stylised flowers, animals and birds. Her joyful designs have appeared on textiles, stationery, books and contemporary homewares.
She lives and works from her sunny seaside studio in Eastbourne, New Zealand.
