The UK's favourite place to buy art
Carl Laubin, the distinguished artist and architectural illustrator, was born in New York in 1947. He studied at Cornell University from 1966 to 1971. Having finished his education, he commenced his career in architecture and worked for Jeremy Dixon until 1987, when he took up painting full-time.
His commissions include Le Reve D'Architect dans le Medoc and Le Reve D'Architect à Bordeaux for the Centre Pompidou and Canary Wharf for the Museum of London. Carl Laubin has also received commissions from the Royal Opera House, Chateau Cos D'Estournel, Chateau Pichon Longueville and Vergelegen Estate in South Africa.
The architectural interpretations in Carl Laubin's paintings are unswervingly accurate, so that each picture provides a record of buildings as they appear today, and in some instances, the way in which the architect originally intended them to look. Carl Laubin is also renowned for his remarkable architectural fantasies.
