The UK's favourite place to buy art
Ariel Luke was born near Tenterden, in Kent, and was brought up in the area on her parents farm.
Early in life, she was inspired towards a career in the art world both by a succession of excellent art teachers and by her own artistic mother. She spent a great deal of time learning to paint, culminating with her qualification from the Wimbledon School of Art.
Ariel Luke normally paints either in watercolour or in oil or tempera on gesso. She has exhibited in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Hong Kong, and her work has also been shown at the Royal Academy. Amongst her many commissions have been the design of a set of stamps for the Jersey Post Office and a range of stationery for UNICEF.
Away from the art world, Ariel Lukes hobbies include gardening, needlepoint, tennis and hiking.
