This original popart style art work by Tom Conway was inspired by rock musicians and particularly ex Guns n Roses guitarist Slash aka Saul Hudson . Also guitarist for rock bands 'Slash's Snakepit' and 'Velvet Revolver', Gibson guitars have produced a custom Slash signature Les Paul series in recognition of his status as an iconic rock guitarist. With a distinctive sound and guitar playing style, his career includes song writing, and film scores as well as inspired performances. I used a lot of red colour tones in the background to emphasise an almost 'dangerous' look and sound of an iconic rock musician. The style used for this painting very much influenced by the work of Pop artist Peter Blake.
