This high quality print is based on a hand-coloured etched plate of Passiflora celiata (Celiated Passion flower) drawn and etched by Mary Lawrance. One of 18 plates from 'A collection of passion flowers coloured from nature' published by Lawrence in 1802. A teacher of botanical art who exhibited at the Royal Academy, Lawrance was a friend of nurseryman and author Robert Sweet (1783-1835).
