This high quality print is based on a hand-coloured engraved plate entitled 'Fringilla forficata, Rallus tabuensis' from 'Cimelia Physica. Figures of rare and curious quadrupeds, birds, &c. together with several of the most elegant plants. Engraved and coloured from the subjects themselves by John Frederick Miller. With descriptions by George Shaw.' This volume was published in 1796 presenting the previously issued plates and descriptions together for the first time.
