I passed this building every day as I walked into the center of Melaque, the small beach town where I lived on and off for several years. The Mexican Pacific Ocean crashes onto the sand with such force that the ground shakes, and clouds of salt water often waft across and onto the adjacent buildings. The sea water erodes most things it touches, so the walls end up with layers of peeling paint, and areas of eroded concrete, accidental abstract creations in their own right.
