Bill Wiggins, the artist who had illustrated the posters for Quatermass 2 and Dracula, returned to Hammer in the early 1970s for the film that marked the end of the traditional Gothic horror cycle. Notable in the background is a portrait of the bodysnatcher played by Patrick Troughton, a member of Hammer’s informal repertory company of actors since the mid-1950s.
