This is the untouched crash sight of a WWII U.S. aircraft USS Liberator. The aircraft was returning to the U.S. after the war when it clipped the top of a mountain on the north west coast of Scotland. An area known as the Fairey Lochs, it also has a memorial plaque erected for the courageous airmen who risked their lives. The picture shows one of the props in the loch and an engine sat clear of the water on the little island, as it lies since the crash.
