The cast iron framed Egyptian Halls is a fine example of the use of modern materials and construction methods in 19th century Glasgow. Because the façade was non load-bearing, Alexander Greek Thomson had the freedom to create continuous highly original designs at each level. This window at the second floor is sandwiched between horizontal bands of exotic motifs.
