Watercolour 420 x 320mm of the gardens at the Villa Lante. The Villa and estate was created by Cardinal Gambera in 1568 and on his death came under the direct control of the Pope. In 1657 it was rented to the Lante family and later exchanged for their home in Rome. They owned it until 1932 and it is now maintained by the Societa Villa Lante. The garden is open to the public.
