About this print

For many years a place called Bloors Wharf held a spell over me. Early in the morning, the Medway mudflats held ships in there grasp as they awaited their fate at the hands of the men with the gas axe. This small breakers, with ships and what remained of them standing silently in the pre dawn mist just had to be painted. I have tried to capture the spirit of the 1980's scene here where now all that remains is the concrete of the foreshore, the sound of the mud and birds and the smell of the sea air blowing in from the North Sea. I have two other paintings available shortly of the same area. Please try the spooky experiment if you like this picture. Walk past it just glancing a look at it from your eye and watch how the ships move relative to each other!
