The scene depicts the middle causeway or 'Honeycomb', part of the Giant's Causeway situated along the lovely coastline of County Antrim in Northern Ireland. It's hexagonal basalt columns create the interesting forms in a variety of colours shown here. The sky has a swirling effect due to the necessarily long exposure of this picture, taken at dawn in june. The causeway is a world heritage site under the care of the National Trust and is enjoyed by many visitors from around the world.
