About this print

A summers dawn at the small fishing village of Staithes, which lies along the North Yorkshire coastline. The picture was taken from the well known viewpoint of Cowbar Nab. On this visit, the sky was illuminated for quite a while with a reddish pink colour. Staithes is known for its association with the then young James Cook who became apprenticed there to a local grocer prior to his joining the Royal Navy and undertaking his famous explorations.
