The scene captured here depicts Loch Shiel, which is found in the Lochaber region of the Scottish Highlands. This picture was taken at the end of a winters day, where the sun, mostly obscured by the dark clouds momentarily breaks through to cast a beam of light across the hills. The Glenfinnan monument is clearly visible at the head of the loch. Loch Shiel is the location of the fictional Hogwarts Lake that has featured in the Harry Potter series of films.
