I am an artist based in the Midlands. At 16 I attended Birmingham College of Art.From there I went into teaching, where I taught both at Primary level and at adult level, teaching Oil painting.Since retirement I have had more opportunity to concentrate on my art. I am particularly interested in Buddhist iconography, especially the classical Indian ,and Graeco/Roman Buddha faces, some of which are very beautiful.I use Acrylic under painting with Caran D'Ache crayons over the top.I try to get an area of light somewhere in the middle which may suggest a centre of interest such as the Buddha's "Third Eye" or a star field.Because the under paintings are accidental I don't quite know how they will turn out. It is exciting, sometimes successful and sometimes not .At the moment I belong to the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and the Sutton Coldfield Art Society where I exhibit regularly. My other work comprises Portrait,Landscape,Sea scape, and flower painting.
