I’m fascinated by photography for the snap shot of a lost moment. However the memories or ideas and emotions it invokes can be quite current, and I like that paradox.
I like to approach each subject in it own right and let that consideration of its nature inform how I shoot it. Its important to me that my initial photograph to be great both technically and compositionally as far as circumstances will allow.
From there I go on to work the picture through post production to fully realise my initial concept or feeling toward the subject.
I’m looking for an ‘otherness’ a moment or feeling that can be a bit jarring or ‘weird’. Sometimes though, it can be the flip side. A moment that’s quite comfortable, where things sit together harmoniously.
