John F Gardner Art Prints and Posters
I am a retired Engineer living in Cheshire with my wife Hazel and our dog Murphy. We've lived here for over 25 years and for many of those I have painted voraciously in my converted garage studio.
Drawing and painting has been a passion of mine from an early age and has always given me a great deal of pleasure. My artistic ability has served me well throughout my life, winning me recognition and awards including, in my youth, a scholarship to the Royal College of Art, which I was unable to take up for family reasons.
I have no preferences in subject matter I draw and paint almost anything, ranging in style from realism and still life through to impressionism and symbolism. I enjoy the freedoms of colour, form and shape, associated perspective and shadows.
I have worked in many mediums but always retain a particular love of water colors and oils.
