Bill Philip Art Prints and Posters
Photographer Bill Philip was born in 1946 and grew up surrounded by the scenic beauty of his native Scotland and the magnificent Lake District, which can be seen in the atmospheric shots of the landscape that formed the background of his early years: the mountains, lochs and seas of the northern wilderness.
The photographer received his B.A. in Fine Art Photography from The University of Westminster and following his career as a professional photographer, Philip started sharing his wealth of knowledge more widely when he was elected as the Director of Arts at his old university.
Combining traditional photography with advanced digital techniques, Bill Philip's images employ a chiaroscuro technique, a style characterized by sharp contrasts between light and dark in his photographic prints.
Philip is a founding member of the Arundel Gallery Trail and has been showered with numerous high-profile awards including the Kodak Portrait Award and a print award from the British Institute of Incorporated Photographers. His photographs have been published and exhibited globally and the most recent showings have been the Affordable Art Fair in London and the Brighton Festival in 2010.
Bill Philip’s also accepts commercial commissions from varying institutions such as the Atrium Restaurant in London, Thorpe Architects, and The Times newspaper, so you may be more exposed to his work than you think. Philip is currently lives and works in West Sussex.
